C. Fincher, makes application to me, for letters of administration, (with the will annexed.) on the Estate of John Fincher, dec’d. These are therefore to cite and admonish all and singular the kindred and creditors of said deceased, to be and appear at my office within the time prescribed by law to show cause, if any, why said letters may not be granted. Given under my hand at office, this 18th day of September, 1849. 16 DAVIS LANE, c. c. o. Additional Comments: John Fincher's will was entered into record in Newton Co. in July 1833. His widow Nancy Fincher died in Jasper Co. in the fall of 1849. This legal notice continued administration of his estate. Several deeds recorded in Jasper Co., including his only recorded Newton Co. deed, named all of his children, or their spouses, in the same order as recorded in his will, though his estate was not mentioned. I decend from the missing 'child' James Fincher, whose son John L. Fincher was raised by his brother, John Jackson Fincher(1850 & 1860 Jasper censuses). Look for the will and other items on this site, or on Newton and Butts Co. USGenWeb sites. See legal notices online on the Digital Library of Georgia-"Historic Newspapers"-site!
