The Georgia Enterprise, September 26, 1889
     A little past 10 o’clock last Saturday night, Mr. James Wilson, of Jasper 
County, died quite suddenly on the streets of Covington. An inquest was held 
and a verdict returned that he came to his death from heart disease. His body 
was shrouded, placed in a neat coffin and carried to his residence by friends 
and relatives. He was perhaps 80 years of age and had been Coroner of Jasper 
County for more than one-third of his life.
