Will of John Gilstrap 30 Oct 1843 Jasper County, GA Ordinary Office, Jasper County, Georgia Georgia, Jasper County I John B. Gilstrap of the county and State aforesaid being in a low State of health but of a sound disposing mind but Knowing that is was once appointed for man to die do make and ordain this to be my last Will and testament. Item 1st, I will that all my just debts be paid and should there not be enough owing to me to pay them I leave it discretionary with my Mother in what way the money shall be raised to pay the remainder. Item 2nd, It is my Will that my Mother (after paying all my just debts) have my whole Estate during her life to wit my land, Negroes, Stock of all Kinds, House-hold & Kitchen furniture Together with all that belongs and appertains thereunto. Item 3rd, It is further my will (that at my Mothers death that my Estate be equally divided amongst all of my Brothers and sisters to wit Myra H. Walker, Lucinda A. Phillips, Rocky A. Smith, James C. Gilstrap, Jeremiah M. Gilstrap, Elizabeth E. F. Hines and the children of my sister Agnes J. Harvil if they or any one of them should live to be twenty-one years of age if not their part to be equally divided amongst my Brothers & Sisters before named. Item 4th, It is my will that the portion of my Estate coming to my sister Agnes J Harvil's children whom an equal division be placed in the hands of Henry Walker for the benefit of before named children or those to whom it is bequeath in case of their death.
