Post, Ephraim Lynch & Ellerson (sic) Gross are held and firmly bound unto the honorable the Justices of the Inferior Court, sitting for ordinary purposes, for the County of Jasper and State of Georgia, in the just and full sum of Four thousand Dollars which payment well and truly to be made, we and each of us do bind our selves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, firmly by these presents sealed with our seals, and dated third day of May 1847. The condition of this obligation is such, that if the above bound Joseph C. Post administrator of the goods, chattles and credits of John Gross deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come the hands possession or knowledge of the said Joseph C. Post or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made, do exibit to the Court of Ordinary when thereunto required; and such goods, chattles and credits, do well and truly administer, according to law and do made a just and true account of his actings and doings therein, when required by the Court aforesaid; and all the rest of the goods, chattles and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration the same being first allowed by the said Court, shall deliver and pay such persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law, if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased, and the executors obtain a certificate of probate thereof, and the said Joseph C. Post do in such case if required, render and deliver up said letters of administration, then this obligation to be void, else to remain in force power, and virture. ( Joseph C. Minute Book B Page 32 It is ordered by the Court that the Negroes belonging to the Estate of John Gross deceased remaining in the hands of Joseph C. Post admr of said deceased be delivered up to John J. Harris & Charles P. Leroy or either of them as Guardians of the miner children of said dec’d upon their receipting for the same. Minute Book B Page 40 It appearing to the court that Joseph C. Post administrator on the estate of John Gross deceased has made application to this Court for letters of dismission from said administration, and that the said application has been duly advertised agreeably to law. It is therefore ordered by the Court that letters of dismission from said administration be granted to the said Joseph C. Post administrator on said Estate - Sept term 1848. Comments: Transcriber could not find anything about Gross on page 247 or any page close to it. There is more info in deed records. His name is John R. Gross.
