Item 2nd: I have heretofore given to my daughter, Ellen Harris, wife of David Harris, two negroes, Julia and Mariah, a bed bedstead & furniture, two cows & calves and a Horse worth one hundred dollars. Item 3rd: I have heretofore given to my daughter, Mary Lynch, wife of Seaborn Lynch, two negroes, Mole & Angelina, and a bed bestead and furniture & two cows & calves. I desire She shall have out of my Estate one horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount in money as she may wish to make her equal with her sister. Item 4th: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Martha Williams, wife of William Williams & subject to the limitations hereinafter mentioned, a negro woman Sophia & her child Leah, and all the future increase of said negroes, also a negro named Ellen, and one horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount of money as She may elect having given her a bed stead & furniture & two cows & calves heretofore. Item 5th: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Eugenia Lynch, wife of Lewis Lynch, two negro girls Edna & her child, and Amanda, and all their future increase, two cows & calves, & one horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount in money having given to her heretofore a bed stead and furniture. Item 6th: I give and bequeath to my son, James B. Howard, a negro boy John, and a negro girl Terry & all their future increase, two cows & calves, a bed bedstead & furniture to be selected by him, also my Colt named Floyd & a Horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount in money out of my Estate as he may elect. Item 7th: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Selia, a negro woman Selry and a negro girl Rachel, and all their future increase, two cows and calves, a bed bedstead & furniture, and my Colt named Fanny & a horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount in money as she may elect. Item 8th: I give and bequeath to my Son, Stephen Howard, a negro boy George & a negro girl Beck, and all their future increase, a bedstead & furniture, two cows & calves, my Sorrel mare’s, present Colt, about six to ten months old, also a horse worth one hundred dollars or that amount in money as he may elect. Item 9th: I give & bequeath unto my Grandson, Isaac Mothershed, son of my daughter, Ellen Harris, the sum of six hundred dollars “$600.00” which is to be deducted out of the Share of my Estate to which his mother, Ellen Harris, may be entitled to under this my last will & testament, the annual interest upon which sum of six hundred dollars is to be applied to the Support & Education of said Isaac, to be expended annually by my Executor, hereinafter appointed, until he arrives at the age of twenty-one years, when the same Shall be paid over to him, but should said Isaac die before he arrives at the age of twenty-one years, the said sum of six hundred dollars is to be equally divided among the children of my daughter, Ellen Harris, if living at the time of his death. Item 10th: It is my will & desire that all the residue of my Estate not herein specially disposed of be sold by my Executors and equally divided among all my children, Share & Share alike, in which division the amount I have bequeathed to my Grandson Isaac Mothershed, by the 9th Item is to be deducted from the Share of my Daughter, Ellen Harris. Item 11th: It is my will & desire that the property given by this my last will & testament to my Daughters as well as the portions they may receive of the residency, to be held by said trustee for the sole & separate use and benefit of my said Daughters, entirely free from the control contracts and debts of the husbands of my married daughters or such husband as my single daughter may marry – my said Daughters & their children have & enjoy the ? of said property only during their natural lives—and at their deaths to go to such children & the descendents of such children as my said Daughters may have born at the time of their respective deaths. Said trustee Shall have full power to manage and control said property of my said Daughters, and to see that the ? is applied to the maintenance & support of my said Daughters & their children during the lifetime of my said Daughters, but in wise to ? or ? upon the ? of said property. Item 12th: It is my will and desire and I hereby constitute and appoint my son, James B. Howard, Guardian both of the person & property of my two minor children, Delia & Stephen Howard during their minority. Item 13th: I hereby constitute & appoint my Son, James B. Howard, & my son-in-law, Lewis Lynch Executors to carry into effect this my last will & testament. In testimony whereof, I have hereto set my hand & seal January 18, 1860.
