All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King Sikes JABOSIKE@aol.com June 20, 2008, 10:05 pm Source: Rg-sg-s:179-02-004, Box 1 Jasper County Wills Written: August 16, 1849 Recorded: June 2, 1856 STATE OF GEORGIA - JASPER COUNTY In the name of God Amen, I Dolly King of said State and County being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as respects my Family and myself, that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me, so therefore make this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. 1st Item I desire and direct, that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to any circumstances and condition in life, My soul, I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it, as I hope for Eternal Salvation through the merits and Atonement of the blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. 2nd Item I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executors hereinafter appointed. 3rd Item I give and bequeath and devise ? unto my beloved Son William J. King my Bed & Furniture and one half of my Negro woman Darcus. 4th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Nancy King the other half of my Negro woman Darcus 5th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Son George W. King Five dollars. 6th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Grand Children the Children of my beloved Daughter Elizabeth Tillman Five dollars 7th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Mary Hattaway Five dollars 8th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Sarah Hattaway Five dollars 9th Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Letty McGee Five dollars 10 Item I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved Son William J. King and William Philips Executors of this my last will and Testament this 16th August 1849 her mark X Dolly King Signed, sealed, declared and published by Dolly King as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribers who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of the said Testator at her special instance and request, and of each other this August, 1849 William L. Philips, Lewis L. Lane, John Brandon Jasper Court of Ordinary June ( ) 1856 Before me P.P. Lovejoy Ordinary of said County in open court. Personally came William J. King one of the nominated Executors of the last will & Testament of Dolly King late of said County (die)? and produced before me the said will of Dolly King deceased and two of the witnesses of said will to witness, Lewis L. Lane & John Brandon each witnessed being duly sworn depose and say that they saw Dolly King the Testatrix sign seal declare and publish the instrument now presented, as her last will and Testament, freely volunteerly and of her own accord, and without any compulsion or influence whatever that at the time of the execution of said will said Testatrix was of sound and disposing mind and memory. That deponents signed said will as witnesses in the presence of the Testatrix and at her special instance and request and in the presence of each other and that William L. Phillips, Lewis L.
