I Thomas Moffatt of the state of Georgia and County of Jasper being in health of body and mind but calling to remembrance that it is appointed once for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament In the manner and form following hereby revokin all other. First of all I give my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but that it will be raised at the resurection & as to the property wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose of in the following manner. Item 1st I bind unto my beloved wife Abigail Moffatt in case she should survive me one negro woman named Patt and one bed and furniture during her natural life or widowhood and that she be maintained by my three sons James, Nathan and Jacob Moffatt and that she have her choice to live with which of my sons she chooses. Item 2 I give and bequeath unto my son James Moffatt all that Lot of land number one Hundred and thirty nine in the thirteenth district formerly Baldwin now Jasper county which lies south west of a line which runs as follows beginning at a post oak corner on a line on a line which runs as follows between said lot and lot number one Hundred and forty running a marked line to a black oak from there to a Hickory thence to a white oak near the head of a branch thence down the meanders of a branch to where it crosses the line between said lot and lot number one Hundred and thirty Eight. Item 3 I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Moffatt all the balance of my lot of land number one Hundred and thirty nine including the plantation together with all the improvements thereon Item 4 I give and bequeath unto my son Nathan Moffatt all that tract of land whereon he now lives it being one half lot number one hundred & fifty in the thirteenth district formerly Baldwin now Jasper County together with the improvements thereon Item 5th It is my desire that after my just debts are paid that the balance of my Estate not already given away should be equally divided among all my children (to wit) Peggy Jackson Jencey Hunter Betsey Boyington Thomas Moffatt and Nathan Moffatt and after the death of my wife abigail Moffatt that part of my Estate which was lent to her to be equally divided among all my children aforesaid. Lastly I constitute and appoint my son James Moffatt and my son in law Nathan Jackson my Executors to execute this my last will and testament in where of I hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & nineteen.
