                     R. L. Rowell
 HAZLEHURST---Riley L. Rowell, 71, of Hazlehurst died yesterday at the 
Hazlehurst Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Jeff Davis 
County, a retired farmer, and a member of the Hazlehurst Church of God.
 Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Riley Rowell; four daughters, Mrs. Alma Sweat 
and Mrs. Lois Beaty, both of Waycross, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Steverson of St. Marys 
and Mrs. Earlene Chancey of Orange Mountain, Fla.; two sons, Carlton Rowell of 
Waycross and Offia Rowell of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepson, B. L. Wooten of 
Hazlehurst; a brother, Odel Rowell of Hazlehurst; 21 grandchildren; and 4 
great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at 3pm today at the Hazlehurst Church of God.
 Miles Funeral Home of Hazlehurst is in charge.
 


Additional Comments:
Riley was born 5 Jul 1898 to John Richard Rowell and Margie Hesters Rowell. 
His wife was Margaret Cleo Rowland Harvey Rowell Carey who is also buried at 
the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Georgia death certificate #003685.
