Saxon chief53477@aol.com October 17, 2006, 12:50 pm The Augusta Chronicle Mr.D.Byron Burt, 60, of Louisville,Ga., died Wednesday, October 11,2006 at the Jefferson Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Athens, Ga. He moved to Louisville, Ga. in 1969, Mr. Burt was a self-employed aerial applicator. He was a member and elder of Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He served on the Louisville City Council from 1991-2001, then in 2002 was elected Mayor of Louisville and was serving untill his death. He owned and operated Burt's Aircraft Service for 30 years. He was a mason. Mr Burt was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Connie Pritchett Burt of Louisville; one son, Major Joel E. Burt and Wift Vicky of Troy, Illinois; one daughter, Bonnie B. Jolley and husband Bobby of Normal, Illinois; three grandchildren, Sarah Ashley and Mason Byron Burt ot Troy, Illinois and Jefferson Jolley of Normal, Illinois; his mother, Mildred Saxon Burt of Winterville, Georgia; one brother, Dennis M. Burt of Anderson, S.C.; one sister Crystal Burt Gabriel and husband Danny of Jasper, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 11;00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Louisville A.R.P. Church with the Reverend Will Anderson officating, Interment will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, Pallbearers are Kenneth Bond, Brad Campbell, Phil Prichard, Adam Gabriel, Luke Gabriel and Buddy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be City Administrator and City Council, Elders of the Church, and Poponalins (The Poponalins are a group of his friends that Byron would meet at popeyes for coffee each morning) Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Louisville was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Byron was a soft spoken person that was well like by all that knew him, he was promp, and if he told you something you could count on it. Byron was loved very much by all of his family. He was our family spokesman at all of our family reunions. Byron I loved you! Uncle JR.
