Mrs. J. F. Pittman, Sr Is Burried At Avera. Avera, Ga., August 26, Funeral services for Mrs. J. F. Pittman, Sr., 75 years of age, wife of the late James Franklin Pittman, who died at her residence five miles from Avera Thursday afternoon at 3:20 o'clock following an illness of nearly four weeks, were conducted at the residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Barfield, pastor of Stapleton Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the family cemetery near the residence. Palbearers were six of her grandsons. Mrs. Pittman, who had been a resident of Jefferson county all of her life, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Avera. Her kindly manner endeared her to a wide cirlce of friends who will mourn her passing. The sumpathy of the entire community is entended the bereft family in its loss. She is survived by five sons, J. J. Pittman, G. W. Pittman and Talmadge Pittman, Dublin, Ga.; T. A. Pittman, Keysville, and J. F. Pittman. Jr., Avera; three daughters, Mrs. A. J. Grizzard, Pooler; Mrs. Susie Hadden, Avera, and Mrs. G. C. Taylor, Keysville; 53 grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren and two sisters and one brother.
