Thos. Hardeman Dies in Louisville Louisville, Ga., October 8-Special-Colonel Thomas Hardeman, one of Jefferson county's largest planters and most prominent citizens, died at his home Tuesday afternoon. He had been sufferning from a lingering illness for several months, and his death has been expected for some days. Mr. Hardeman was quite a remarkable man. He began life a very poor boy and had, during his years, accumulated a good fortune, which he made altogether by farming. His ideas on agriculture were regarded profitable and progresssive. He was for several years a member of the county board of education, of which he was chairman. He was also vice president of the First National bank. He was a consistent member of the Associated Reformed Presbyterian church, and was a member of the building committee on the structure now being erected. He is survived by his wife and several children, among whom is R N Hardeman, present representative of Jefferson county. Mr. Hardeman was 70 years old. His funeral occurred Wednesday afternoon.
