Mrs. Stapleton Dies in Hospital

Stapleton, Ga. -- Mrs. Jessie Jones Stapleton, 90, of Stapleton, widow of the 
late Edgar Stapleton, died in Jefferson Hospital at Louisville Monday night.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 3 P. M. at the Stapleton Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Gordon Price officiating.

Pallbearers were E. J. Smith, Jr., Q. L. Bryant, Jr., Walter Stapleton, Edgar 
Stapleton, Jr., ___ Stapleton, Henry Jones.

Survivors are four nieces, Mrs. L. M. Durham, East Point, Mrs. Henry Ballenger, 
Seneca, S. C., Mrs. W. C. Thomas, Gainesville, Fla., and Mrs. Lollie Phillips, 
Bartow, Fla.; and four nephews, Jacks Jones, Stapleton, M. B. Jones, Wrens, Dr. 
Jim Stapleton, Dublin, and Leroy Stapleton of Meadow.

She was the daughter of the late J. N. T. and Margaret Brinson Jones Stapleton 
of Jefferson County, Georgia, and was a member of the Stapleton Baptist Church 
where she was the first teacher of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.  She 
was a member of the DAR.
