The funeral was at 11 a. m. on Wednesday, November 9, at James and Lowe Funeral Home in Wrens, with the Rev. John Forrester officiating. Burial was in Stapleton Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Stapleton, a native of Glascock County, was a homemaker. She was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the adult ladies Sunday School class and a former Sunday School teacher. She was an avid genealogist, and her work had helped many families in research. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son, Jack R. Stapleton, Statham; two sisters, Frankie Wilcher, Macon, and Virginia McLocklin, Douglas; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Jones, George Stapleton, John Kilgore, Myron Hadden, John Jones, Travis Rooks, James lee Hobbs and Braddy Jones.
