Stapleton, a North Augusta Elementary School teacher, collapsed suddenly Wednesday afternoon while conducting an Easter egg hunt during a school recess for her pupils. Cause of death was diagnosed as a coronary thrombosis. Miss Stapleton, who taught the fourth grade of the school for the past four years was a native of Stapleton, Ga., but had lived in North Augusta for the past four years. She was 63 years old and had resided at 815 Carolina Ave. Funeral services were held Friday in the Stapleton Baptist Church with the Rev. G. Gordon Price, the Rev. J. E. Cook and the Rev. W. E. Spears officiating. Interment was in the Stapleton Cemetery. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Jessie Stapleton of North Augusta; aunt, Miss Margaret Stapleton of Stapleton, and several cousins.
