Farrer Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/jefferson/photos/ph421aquillam.jpg Image file size: 214.8 Kb The original large charcoal sketch of 'Uncle Quiller' was in an oval frame with curved glass. This copy was made by Lynn Farrer about 1974 from the original owned by Walter I Farrer and wife Daisy B. Gaston. Walter & Daisy have since died and I have no idea who has the original. Aquilla was not one of Walter's ancestors but his great grand uncle. James H. Farrow had three sons who faught in Company G, 38th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Aquilla M., Garvin H., and William J. Harrison Farrer. James Farrow died a decade before the war and Aquilla was the only son to survive the war. As the only older Farrer, Aquila was an important patriarchical figure for his nephews and neices. Additional Comments: Aquilla M. Farrow the son of James H. Farrow and Mary A. 'Polly' was born 10 Apr 1834 in Jefferson County, GA. During his later years he went between the homes of his sister, sons, nephews, and neices visiting. He died on 10 Mar 1916 in Jefferson County. His obit said he was staying at Walter W. Farrer's home near Wadley, Jefferson County GA when he died. Walter I. Farrer, Walter W's son was a child at the time and said Aquilla died of Bright's Disease at the home of his nephew John D. Scruggs near Bartow, Jefferson County GA. Aquilla is buried along side John D. Scruggs' family in a cemetery near Moxley, Jefferson County, GA.
