Additional Comments:
The death certificate doesn't show his mother's first name.  Her first name is 
Elizabeth, and she is the daughter of Joel Jefferson and Emily Tanner.  His 
father's mother is Fathy Smith of Cherokee County, Bluffton, AL. I have been 
unable to find who his father was as Fathy appears in Bluffton as a widow.
