All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Connie Page bcpage@pineland.net January 1, 2010, 8:40 am Source: Jefferson County Will Book, P. 43 Written: November 15, 1803 Recorded: January 3, 1804 In the name of God Amen the 15th day of November 1803 I Adam Calhoun of the State of Georgia and County of Jefferson Being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for his mercy: therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first I give recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the descretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the might power of God Amen as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. It is my will that the tract of land whereon I now live together with all the rest of my real estate, my wagons and horses and my negro women named Matt to be sold at public sale giving twelve months credit I give my dearly beloved wife Rosanna the eleventh part of all my real and personal estate to be given her as soon as a diviners can be made by my Executors and also that she have the possession of all my stock of cattle, hogs, sheep toward the raising the two youngest children till they should marry or be come of age I give and bequeath my son William Calhoun twenty dollars to be made and levied out of my estate I give and bequeath to Unity Godwin ten dollars and it is my desire that she have eighteen month schooling at the expense of my estate. It is my will and desire that every description of the remainder part of my Estate not particularly before given or disposed of be equally divided between all my S_______y children as ________ they_______________________. I do hereby constitute and ordain M Newton and Samuel Allen my sole executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies and bequeaths and Executors by me in any way before named will and leagay through ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
