Know all men by these presents that I David Ward
Senior hath bargained, Sold and delivered unto his
son Elisha Ward for the sum of fifty pounds to him
in hand paid all his stock Cattel and Hogs Housel
[household] good beds and furnitude bead Steads
Chests tables and all pot Iron pough hows axes
grubbing ho all my Iron and Iron tools carpenders
tools Coper tools and all my puter and all my housel
funitude with Bonds not and accounts given my hand
and this sixth day of april One thousand Seven
hundred and ninty eight.

Note: According to Jefferson
County tax and deed documents, David Ward died soon
after making this "will" to his son Elisha Ward.
Deeds of Telfair Co GA prove that David was married
to Mary. In addition to their son Elisha Ward (1773-
1838), they also had sons Samuel and David Jr., as
well as daughter Elizabeth Ward, the wife of Luke
Bozeman, and also an unnamed daughter who married
Aquilla Lowe.
