I contacted Mr. Leonard Hawes, the church secretary and treasurer, to inquire about an unmarked grave next to the Bell family plot. Mr. Hawes had preserved a grid of the cemetery compiled by Mr. Victor H. Reeves and his daughter Mrs. Seabie Reeves Gunn many years ago. This paper showed that Mr. Louis Augustine was buried in this now unmarked grave. As my hobby is genealogy, I was very interested to learn of the many unmarked graves in the cemetery, so I made a copy of the grid and the explanation. Mr. Victor H. Reeves used this information to identify the location of the people buried at Habersham Methodist Church Cemetery. Fortunately Mr. Leonard Hawes continued to make entries after the death of Mr. Reeves. The inventory of Habersham Methodist Church Cemetery is listed alphabetically. The first line contains the name on the gravestone, followed by a number that indicates the grave location on the grid found on the next page, and information taken from the stone. The notation "unmarked" indicates that this grave did not have a marker and the name that appears is the name attributed to this space by Victor H. Reeves. Some burials of persons in the cemetery were found from funeral home records or death certificates, but no gravestone was observed. In these cases the name is listed followed by a location number of 0. It is probable that some of these unlocated graves would correspond with the 34 "UNKNOWN" grave sites that were located by Mr. Victor H. Reeves. Some entries will have information that is pertinent to the person buried at that location. If the source of the information is not shown, it came from the compiler of this book. Contributors of other information is noted by two letters following by a ":". The key to these sources follows: AC: Annie Broxton Cooper BS: Ben L.
