December 12, 1900, Augusta Chronicle
  Mrs. Mary Ann Brinson, a venerable old lady of 70 years, died at the home of 
her son-in-law, Mr. H.C. Perkins in the city yesterday morning at 5:30 
o'clock.  Mrs. Brinson was formerly a resident of Millen, but for the last two 
years has been living in Augusta with her daughter.
  The remains were carried to Millen yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and 
the interment will occur at the place this afternoon.  Rev. Spark W. Melton 
will go to Millen to officiate.
  Mrs. Brinson's three score and ten years had been useful ones.  She had 
carefully raised a family and always willingly served her neighbors, when it 
was in her power to do so.  Death was the result of the natural decline of old 
age.
