Mr. Henry C. Chance, 74, of Perkins died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at the 
Veterans Hospital in Augusta following a brief illness.

His funeral was 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Magnolia Baptist Church with the 
Revs. Bill Turner and Richard Daniel officiating. Burial was in the Habersham 
Cemetery.

Mr. Chance, a native of Jenkins County, was a veteran of the Korean War. He 
was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and a retired employee of Pepsi Cola. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Carpenter and Mae Hopper Chance 
and three brothers, Reuben Carpenter Chance II, Thomas Lovett Chance and 
Robert Lacy Chance.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Jester Reeves Chance; three stepsons, Thomas, 
Donald and Ronald Reeves; a sister-in-law, Irma Hawes Chance; and two nieces, 
Marie Chance Whyte and Rebecca Chance Hickman.

Pallbearers were Brad Hickman, Cecil Hickman, Jake Newton, Drew Newton, George 
W. Gunn and Jack Turner.
