His funeral was 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the chapel of Blyth Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Troglin officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Born in Millen on Feb. 2, 1944, he was a son of the late Ralph Norman and Dessie Rabitsch Clifton. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired as a territory manager for Keebler Co. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, and he was a Shriner. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Stephen W. Clifton of Irmo, S.C. and J. Scott Clifton of Greenwood; two brothers, Alvin "Bud" Clifton of Stone Mountain and Norman T. Clifton of Rocky Ford; a sister, Naomi C. Reid of Millen; and three grandchildren.
