Coleman, 79, of Millen died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004. His funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Millen Baptist Church. Burial was in the Millen Cemetery. Mr. Coleman was a native of Jenkins County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a retired boilermaker out of Savannah Local 26. He was formerly owner of Millen Florist. He was a member of the Millen Baptist Church where he attended the Boch Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Robbie Simmons Coleman; two sons and a daughter-in- law, Donald Wayne and Wanda Coleman of Statesboro and Stan Coleman of Millen; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Glenn Mays of Waycross and Sunny and Mark Posey of Millen; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Fannie Lou Larisey of Tarrytown and Betty and Clayton DeLaigle of Alexander; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Branden Coleman, Chris Coleman, Sky Coleman, Daniel Posey, Danny DeLaigle and Corey Stout.
