Dickey, 54, of Jones Avenue, entered into rest Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Anna Maria Rehab and Nursing Facility. Funeral services were held Friday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dickey was a lifelong resident of Burke County and a graduate of Waynesboro High School in 1966. He attended Georgia Southern University, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, and was a lover of the great outdoors. Mr. Dickey was a supporter of Georgia Public Television. He was Christian by faith and had worked for Legion Industries for over 30 years. Survivors include his spouse, Elizabeth N. Dickey of Waynesboro; a sister, Phyllis D. Seabolt of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles McLeroy, John Lovett, William McNeely, Freddie DeLoach, Les Peel, Ben Reese, Walt Seegar, Everette Newman and David Petrea. -- The Millen News, July 30, 2003.
