He was born July 22, 1933 in Millen. He was a member of the Westmore Church of God, where he was an active volunteer with the Samaritan House Benevolence Ministry. He was a retired building contractor in Covington, La. While living in Covington, he was a member of Shepards Fold Church of God. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Marylin Core Joyner of Cleveland; four children, Ray Clinton Joyner Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jefferey Joyner and Joey Timothy Joyner, both of Cleveland, and Judy Joyner Page of Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Royce Joyner and Jerald Joyner, both of Cleveland; and one sister, Madeline Hooks of Bel Glade, Fla. Ray graduated from Millen High School in 1952. He was the oldest son of the late Ralph and Myrtle Aycock Joyner and the nephew of Exie and the late Jesse M. Aycock. The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Westmore Church of God in Cleveland, with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
