The Millen News, November 24, 2004

L. Flanders Johnson, 77, of Millen died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004.

His funeral was noon, Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in 
Garfield.

Burial was in the Midville Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Emanuel County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of 
World War II where he served with the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Johnson was also a 
retired security guard at the Savannah River Site. He was a member of the Mt. 
Olivet Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ida Green 
Johnson.

Survivors include a brother, Winton L. Johnson of Millen; and several nieces 
and nephews.

Active pallbearers were nephews. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the Mt. 
Olivet Baptist Church.
