Mr. Edgar Messex, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at Memorial Health 
University Medical Center.

Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the chapel of Thomas 
C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Savannah.

Mr. Messex was a Jenkins County native and a member of McDonald Baptist 
Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Messex.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Bragg and Gail Messex, both of 
Savannah; three sons, Jimmy Messex of Bloomingdale, Roger Messex of Kalmath 
Falls, Oregon and Darrell Messex of Bloomingdale; two sisters, Martha Schaffer 
of Valdosta and Mary Jackson of Sardis; and 11 grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
