Her funeral was held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in the chapel of Miles Funeral Home with Bishop Michael Thigpen, Bishop Paul Taylor, Brother Gary McCall and Brother Lee Sharpe officiating. Burial was in the Lanier Cemetery in Jenkins County. Mrs. Sharpe, a native of Jefferson County, lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County. She was the daughter of the late Henry Mathis and Juranie Manning Mathis. She was the wife of the late Henry Grady Sharpe. Mrs. Sharpe was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include daughters Mildred Brue of Hazlehurst, Charlene Lamar of Statesboro and Laura Pritchett, Melba Sharpe Golden and Margie Williams, all of Bainbridge; sons, Moroni Sharpe, Billy Sharpe, Charles Sharpe and Cecil Sharpe, all also of Hazlehurst; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ada Beasley of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
