Parents of Martha were Samuel Williams and Matilda Moye Williams. I have pictures of their graves, which is now on property previously owned by Contintntal Can Co. It is located aout 500 feet from the property line of the Sam Hall original homeplace. The house and property my Grandma, Annie Mae Hall Pool inherited from her parents, Henry Samuel and Elizabeth Tison Hall in the 1940s. Henry CasweIl was born May 31, 1844 in Georgia. From CSA pension application records I have in my posession he was in Company E. 32nd Regiment Georgia Volunteers, Finegans Brigade. Cass was honorably discharged on May 20, 1865. He and his older brother Danid E. were in same company and were in the biggest battle in Florida at Olustee, or Ocean Pond, near Lake City, Florida. Cass was wounded severly with a mini ball through his chest. It went through his left should and upper part of his lung and exited near his spine. He was very handicapped his whole life from that wound. A genealogy cousin told me she had heard it took him over a year to get back home from Olustee because of his wound. On February 17, 1867 he married Martha Williams Tison. From Volume A Johnson county Marriages Page 79, copy marriage license in my posession. She was the daughter of Samnel Williams and Matilda Moye, and was the widow of Stephen Tison who died in the CSA. 1 have copy of marriage license for Stephen Tison and Mlartha WiIliams in my posession. LW&T for Stephen in my posession, Stephen was the son of Noah Tison, Sr and his last wife Millie. Stephen never got to see the son he had with Martha, Jefferson Davis Tison. Jeff got an MD degree in Augusta at the Medical College of Georgia, and was practicing medicine in Adrian when he died about 1905. Case and Martha raised Jeff and had 4 children of their own. Henry Samuel, Charley, Margaret, and Shade. I have a copy of their marriage license--Johnson Co Marriages Volume A 1859- 1876, page 79. Henry C. Hall married Martha Tyson, 17 Feb. 1867. From page 91 of the Searching For Our Ancestors Among The Gravestones book : John Grant Cemetery Location: John Grant Cemetery is located about 2 miles south of Meeks, Ga. on a public road adjoining land now owned by Hildred Meeks. ( 1991 ) The land was once owned by Cass Hall who sold it to John J. Grant. John J Grant must have owned the land in 1904 when he died, since he was buried on the property beneath a large oak tree. The oak tree has died in the last few years. Cass and Martha are buried in Cass Hall Cemetery just a few feet from the Meeks to Adrian Road. It is on property that was previously owned by Luther and Gladys Hall Watson. Demetery is just as you go into the driveway of the house it is on the left. The Sons of Confederate Veterans put a new marker on his grave, they repaired Martha"s and cleaned it up. His name is Henry Caswell and they put Henry Cass on his marker. Gene Hall, my husband Jimmie, and I were there not too many months after it was done (about 1999 ) and the grave stones of my Mother's 2 little baby brothers were gone. I have pictures of my Aunt Rita showing me where they were. I saw them. I have pictures of them. My Mother and her sisters put them on the graves about 20 years ago, and they were nice sturdy ones, not temporary ones. They were made of cement and had their names and dates on them. Cass was counted in the 1850 Emanuel CO census but his name was Henry there. Cass was counted in the 1860 Johnson CO census with his family too. Could not find Cass and Martha in 1870 Georgia census. House 239 Henry Caswell Hall 1880 Johnson co GA Hall HC age 35 Martha age 37 wife Jefferson age 19 son married Nannie Williams Henry Samuel age 12 son married Elizabeth Tyson Margaret age 8 daughter married Aaron Tyson Charlie age 3 son married Mary Kea Wm.Shade age 3 mos. son Married first Manie Kea Tison H. femal age 50 Housekeeper. This Harriet Tyson? The above Jefferson was son of Martha Williams and Stephen Tyson who died in CSA The above--AAron Tyson husband of Margaret was brother to Elizabeth Tyson who married Sam Hall. When Manie Kea died, Shade married Mattie Mae Wilson whom I remember well and was a simply wonderful, sweet woman. I used to like to play with their daughter Nancy when we lived there. Nancy, and I are the same age and we were in the same grade in school in Adrain. She lived next door to my grandparents, Annie Mae and Arthur Poole. ( at least a mile ) I have not been able to find Cass and his family in the 1870 census in Ga. Perhaps he had gone to Florida with some of his kin who were there. Cass was a member of Sardis Church. He had a second wife after Martha died. He married Georgia Meeks and I have a photo of them together before he did in 1915. Their Children were: 1--Henry Samuel Hall 2--Margaret Hall 3--Charley Hall 4--Wm Shade Hall Additional Comments: If a mistake or incorrect material is her please let me know. Documentation can be furnished. If you have anything to add to this please post it. I am planning to post his CSA applications and some Poor School Fund material. If you can tell us about the John Grant Cemetery please do. Inez This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 6.1 Kb
