He married Elizabeth Tyson February 11, 1892 in , Washington, Ga, daughter of William Tyson and Lucinda Johnson. She was born May 04, 1868 in ,,Washington, Ga, and died May 08, 1943 in At home, Meeks, Johnson, Ga. Grandpa Sam and Grandma Elizabeth are both buried at Corinth Methodist Church near Meeks. Sam Hall walked the boundary of his property almost every day. He was out walking on his property when he was striken by a stroke that took his life. His little dog, his buddy and constant companion, went to the house and "told" his family he was ill. He died after two weeks. One night the dog caught a possum in the grape arbor trying to get a chicken. Little dog went into the vines after the possum. Sam did too, and the dog bit his nose thinking it was the possum I guess. Few days later he went to the store of Joe H Rowland in Wrightsville to buy fertilizer. He would order it and they would deliver it with a truck. It was spring of year. Rowland store was across rail road tracks. When he was walking to the Rowland store a Lovett man who ran a cotton gin at the time saw Sam and his injured nose. Yelled at Sam, "what happened to your nose, Sam?" NO ANSWER. "I told you to keep your nose out of everbody else's business or one day you were going to get it bitten off". There was a rail road that went to Meeks from Adrian. To Kite, Wadley, and Louisville. I was told by W. C. Tyson in Adrian about 1995 that he has fond memories of the BarBQs that were given by Sam when W.C. was a child. He said he really did not make the connection that he was related to him or how until he was an adult, but the food was delicious. Said Grandpa Sam had the most wonderful goat bar-b-q he had ever eaten. Said he was famous for it during that time. Had to be in the 20s, or 30s because Sam died in 1940.
