The first people buried in this cemetery were the parents of Mrs. Mary Francis Walden Downs, wife of L.D. Downs, and her sister and brother-in-law. This was the final resting place of a number of people before the turn of the century, their names are not recalled or recorded and all that remains visible now are two small markers of infants.
