Elisha Walker, Revolutionary War Soldier, married Nathaniel Stoke's granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Bower ca. 1787. Elisha Walker was born in Virginia. He gave valiant service as a private during the Revolutionary War and served with the first battalion of Richmond County Militia which was commanded by Co. James McNeil. As recognition for said service to his country he was given lad in Washington County, Georgia. In 1807 this land was part of the new county of Laurens, and in 1858 it became part of the newer county of Johnson. Elisha Walker and his wife, Elizabeth, had seven children: four boys and three girls. Morris Bower, father of Mary Elizabeth Bower Walker, also served his country in the Revolutionary War. Georgia Roster of the Revolution by Lucien L. Knight contains records of Elisha Walker's record of service and lists his wife as the widow of the Revolutionary Soldier. Her name also appears in the Cherokee land lottery of 1838. Elisha Walker died ca. 1802 in Washington County, Georgia. His descendants own his land up til 1978 and probably til now, 2007.
