Hall, and after such personal examination, say that the present condition of applicant is as follows: Was shot through left shoulder. Ball passing through upper portion of left lung comming out near the spine causing some trouble in breathing. Also spitting up puss at times, and at times neuralgia when a cold is contracted. Also have to keep left hand to side at right angles, can't allow it to swing. We have treated the applicant professionally..............years, and his condition, as above stated, does not arise from hereditary or congentital causes, or from vicious or intemperate habits. E. C Hall of said County, State of Georgia, that he is a bona fide citizen, who being duly sworn says on oath that he was born on the 31st day of May 1844. m that he enlisted in the military serice of the Confederate Sates (or the State of Georgia) on or about the 15th day of June, 1862 during the war between the States and served in Company E of 32nd Regiment of Georgia Volunteers Finagin Brigage , and was honorably discharged on or about the 25th day of May, 1865; that whilst engaged in such military service, and in line of duty in the State of Florida, on the 20th day of February, 1864, he was disabled or wounded as follows: In battle of Olustee was shot in the left shoulder's side. Ranged thru left lung, passed out about middle of back-- said wound renders it extremely difficult for me to breathe, and renders me unable to work. DISAPPROVED J W Lindsey Commissioner of Pensions Pensions Office 9/14/1903 Testimony Insufficient for Disable Pension J M Lindsey Commissioner of Pensions Wrightsville, Georgia September 14, 1904 Ammended Application of Henry Hall for Pension After a careful examination I find him suffering with the following disabilities: A large scar about the outlet of left deltoid muscle, also a still larger scar about spine of second Dorsal Vertebrae .....muscle geatly atrophied and almost useless..... some pain in the spine. Great ___________ in posterior lobe of left lung. Expectoration of puss. Disease in expansion of left lung. These with general disabilities renders applicant unable to perform such labor as is necessary to make a living. Hall and find the following: A bullet entered the left shoulder and came out near the spine puncturing the left lung. After this injury according to his statement he had a traumatic pneumonia so that is evidently a cicritaze in the lung which embarrasses respiration. His left arm and hand is partially emaciated and weakness which incapacitates him from doing ordinary manual labor. His disability is the direct result of this injury independent of age. Leon L.
