(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net June 30, 2011, 11:12 am The Suwannee Democrat 5-12-2004 Essie Rae Bass April 27, 1922-May 8, 2004 Essie Rae Bass, 82, of Live Oak, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2004 in the Suwanne Helath Care center, Live Oak. The Meeks Ga. native resided in Live Oak. She was a supervisor for Kmart of Live Oak for 10 years and was a member of the Live Oak Christian Church. Survivors include: her three daughters, Gloria Scott, Live Oak, Jane Riggins, Tallahassee, and Cindy Lieupo, Live Oak; one sister, Geneva Grant, Kite, Ga.; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Reece Bass. Graveside services were conducted at 2pm Tuesday, May 11, at the Macedonia Cemetery, Live Oak with the Rev. Martin M. Honchalk officiating. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements. Additional Comments: Essie was born to Melvin Tanner Hall and Pearlee Steptoe.
