                          Bennett Claxton
 WRIGHTSVILLE----Bennett L. Claxton, 74, died Tuesday in a local hospital. 
Services will be held at 4pm today in Brown Memorial Baptist Church. Burial 
will be in Westview Cemetery.
 Mr. Claxton, a lifelong resident of Johnson County, was a retired farmer and 
member of Brown Memorial Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mae Claxton of Wrightsville; a son, 
Mike Claxton of Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Katherine McCullen of 
Miami, Fla., Mrs. Mary Ann Williams of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Leahdora Powell of 
Kite, Mrs. Joann Douglas and Mrs. Mary Douglas, both of Dublin; and a brother, 
Zack Claxton of Augusta; and two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Rowland of 
Wrightsville and Mrs. Ester Williams of Kite.
 Stanley and Sons Funeral Home of Wrightsville has charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Bennett was born 24 Jun 1902 to Bennett L. Claxton and Mary Ann Tyson Claxton. 
Georgia death certificate #015590. His first wife was Georgia "Georgie" Snell 
Claxton who is also buried at Westview Cemetery.
