Claxton KITE--- Mrs. Eula Mixon Claxton, 77, died Wednesday at Candler County Hospital in Metter after a long illness. The Johnson County native was a charter member od Kite Church of God and an organist at the church for many years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gena Johnson and Mrs Sara Dene Flanders, both of Kite; three sons, Bobby Joe and Johnny Claxton, both of Kite and J. B. "Jimmy" Claxton of Faulkville; her stepmother, Mrs. Mattie Mixon of Haines City, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Johnson and Mrs. Abelene Willis, both of Haines City and Mrs. Carolyn Dennis of Indiantown, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11am today at Kite Church of God, burial in New Home Cemetery. Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro. Additional Comments: Eula was born 9 Jan 1906 to William Augustus "Gus" Mixon and Gena Mae Unknown Mixon. Her husband was Rev. Joseph Vina "J. V. " Claxton who is also buried at New Home Cemetery.
