Services will be held at 3pm today in Moore Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville. Officiating will be Rev. Wilton Pattersol and Rev. C. E. Vines. Mr. Claxton, son of Bennett and Mary Tyson Claxton, a native of Emanuel County, had lived in Dublin 14 years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Moore Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lovella Claxton of Dublin; four daughters, Mrs. Velma Price of Macon; Mrs. Edna Baggett of Dudley, Mrs. Lance Martin of Gautier, Miss., and Mrs. Gail Drake of Dublin; two sons, J. P. Claxton and M. L. Claxton Jr., both of Macon; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Rowland of Wrightsville and Mrs. Ester Williams of Kite; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers include: Billy Claxton, Frank Claxton, C. J. Claxton Jr., Glen Claxton, Terry Lord, and Truitt Poole. Stanley and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
