(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 22, 2009, 6:26 am The Wrightsville Headlight 12-23-1982 Page 2A Mr. Obie Foskey Obie Foskey, 69, of Adrian, died in a Dublin hospital Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1982, after a short illness. Mr. Foskey, a lifelong resident of Johnson County, was a son of the late Sam Foskey and Mrs. Anna Pitts Foskey. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post in Wrightsville. He was retired from the Veterans Administration and was a member of the Masons and Bay Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Mae Foskey; a son, Samuel W. Foskey of Adrian; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Mae McPhederian and Mrs. Victoria Doshia McDaniel, both of Adrian; three brothers, Tillman Foskey, Elton Foskey, and James G. Foskey, all of Adrian. Funeral services were conducted in Bay Springs Baptist Church at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Dec. 16, with the Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. Members of the Wrightsville American Legion Post served as honorary escort. Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
