(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net August 26, 2009, 12:41 pm The Swainsboro Blade 12-17-1980 Page 5D Long Illness Proves Fatal To Mrs. Ollie Foskey ADRIAN----Mrs. Ollie (Mattie Bell) Foskey, 60, died last Thursday morning in the Emanuel County Hospital in Swainsboro after a long illness. The funeral was held at 3pm Friday at Emanuel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jimmy Sumner and the Rev. Henry Horton officiating. Burial was in Carter's Chapel Cemetery, Laurens County. Pallbearers were Kenneth Foskey, Arthur Foskey Jr., Monroe Carter, Thurman Foskey, Lanier Garnto and Charles Ray Flanders. Mrs. Foskey was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson County and a member of Emanuel Assembly of God Church. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Flanders and the late Mrs. Mattie Carter Flanders. Surviving are her husband, Ollie Foskey of Adrian; two sons, Joe Foskey of Tampa, Fla. and Danny Foskey of Adrian; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Foskey of Rockledge and Mrs. Lillian Ely of Gibson; three brothers, the Rev. W. E. Flanders of Uvalda, Ray Flanders of Harlem, and J. T. Flanders of Dublin; and six grandchildren. Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
