(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 23, 2011, 7:13 pm The Wrightsville Headlight 7-18-1940 Page 1 Mr. Sam Hall Is Buried Last Sunday Mr. Sam Hall, a prominent citizen of the Meeks community was buried at Corinth church cemetery Sunday. The funeral was held from this church with the Rev. Raleigh Johnson conducting the funeral rites. He had recently passed his 72nd birthday and was one of the leading citizens of that community for many years. Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hall, a native son of Johnson County, died at his home near Meeks at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He had been sick about three weeks. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Tyson Hall. There are five children living, Miss Martha Lucinda Hall, Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Smith, Mrs. Annie Mae Pool, Melvin T. Hall, and Alonzo S. Hall. He has one brother, Mr. W. Shade Hall.
