HIGGS--- Mrs. Mary Townsend Higgs, 82, of Williston, Fla., passed away 
Wednesday morning in Williston. She was a native of Kite, Ga. and resided in 
Jacksonville for years before moving to Williston, a year ago. She was a 
member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles Eugene Higgs of 
Pascagoula, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Novie Downing, Shreveport, La., Mrs. 
Mae Leonard, Greensboro, NC, and Mrs. Maude Palmer of Vidalia, Ga.; 6 
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 nieces; and 18 nephews. Funeral 
services will be held at 11am Friday in the Chapel of Hardage and Sons 
Northside Funeral Home, 34th and Main St., Rev. James T. Barber officiating. 
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Mary was born 8 Aug 1886 to James Andrew Townsend and Georgia Ann Tyson 
Townsend. Her husband was Jack Homer Higgs. No death certificate was listed in 
Florida.
