(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 28, 2009, 7:16 am The Dublin Courier Herald 7-6-1963 Front Page Funeral Rites Set For Mrs. Morris Horton Funeral services for Mrs. Morris Horton, 76, of 505 North Washington St., will be held Sunday afternoon at four o'clock from the Scott Baptist Church. The Rev. Eddie Hilburn, pastor, the Rev. Monroe Carter and the Rev. J. E. Harville will officiate. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Methodist Church cemetery near Scott and Townsend Brothers Funeral Home will direct arrangements. The body will lie in state at Townsend Chapel until three P.M. Sunday when it will be placed in the church. Mrs. Horton, a native of Johnson County, and resident of Laurens County and Dublin for the past few years, died this morning at her home after a long period of declining health. She was a member of the Scott Baptist Church. Her survivors are her husband, Morris Horton of Dublin; three sons, Preston Horton of Dublin, Eugene Horton of Minter, and Pearly Horton of Scott; three daughters, Mrs. Eddie Foskey of East Dublin, Mrs. Tom Young and Mrs. J. D. Miller, both of Dublin; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Additional Comments: Arphelia was born 9-20-1886 to Curtis Manning Foskey and Catherine Missouri Mimbs Foskey.
