Born in Emanuel County, she lived in Macon for the past 49 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ and the Ladies Club of Bibb Manufacturing Co. She was the daughter of the late Silas Townsend and Catherine Tyson Townsend and was the widow of Albert L. Loyd. Survivors: children, Lamerle Loyd of Eatonton, Ernest Loyd, Frances Mason and Susan Minchew, all of Macon, Julia Riner of Swainsboro, and Betty Kersey of Eatonton; brother and sisters, Cleo Rogers of Kite, Novie Cochran and Jacob Townsend, both of Fayetteville, NC; 20 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Services : 11am today in Southside Church of Christ. Burial: 2pm in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Johnson County. Minister Roy McNew will officiate. Visitation: The family may be contacted at the residence of Ernest Loyd, 2540 Green Leaf Drive or at the residence of Lamerle Loyd, 4627 Elkan Ave. Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, has charge of arrangements.
