ALBERTICE MATHIS RETIRED TEXTILE WORKER Mrs. Albertice Smith Mathis, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, in Wrightsville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Corinth United Methodist Church, Meeks, with the Revs. Donnie Bush, Tim Lamb and Inman Gerald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mathis, a native of Johnson County, had retired as a textile worker and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Hubert Mathis Sr., Wrightsville; two sons, Curtis Mathis, Uvalda, and Hubert Guy Mathis Jr., Arabi; two daughters, Doris Sumner, Wrightsville, and Margaret Turner, Cochran; a brother, Bennie Smith, Wrightsville; three sisters, Mattie Mae Knight, Wrightsville, Elizabeth M. Porter, Chiefland, Fla., and Mary E. Sheppard, Swainsboro; and 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be David Clavier, Bill Mathis, Andy Sumner, Jerry Sumner, John Sumner and Craig Farthing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richard and Joyce Stanley Funeral Home, Wrightsville.
