W. Vanlandingham 59, were held Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the Wrightsville Methodist Church. A life-long resident of Johnson county, Mrs. Vanlandingham died at her residence here Monday after an illness of several months. She was a teacher in the Wrightsville schools for a number of years and had served as principal of the Grammar School. She has also been an active worker in the Methodist Church. Mrs. Vanlandingham is survived by her husband, J. W. Vanlandingham; two sons, Mayor John E. Vanlandingham, of Wrightsville, and Steve Vanlandingham, of Soperton; five daughters, Mrs. Irene Dent, of Lyons; Mrs. Ola Stephenson of McRae; Mrs. O. K. Wilborg, of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Tom Booz, of Rome, and Mrs. Sidney Boswell, of Brunswick; three brothers, Lotis, John, and Jesse McAfee, all of Wrightsville; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Terrell, of Hapeville; Mrs. Bertha Blackman, of Lynchburg, S. C., and Mrs. J. R. Williams, of Adrian. She was the daughter of the late John A. McAfee and Ammie Webb McAfee. Rev. W. Park Smith officiated at the funeral services. Active pall bearers were her nephews, James, Luttrell and Wade McAfee, Griffin Williams, Thomas Terrell, and Charles Turner. The Board of Stewards of the Methodist Church formed an honorary escort.
