Thompson francist@mindspring.com November 15, 2003, 11:49 pm The Sandersville Progress, Thursday, August 4, 1955 James Oscar Page Passes at Harrison Funeral services for James Oscar Page, 77, of Harrison, who died suddenly at his home wednesday, July 27, were held Friday July 29, at 3 p. m. at the Harrison Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Bodenhamer, pastor of the church, officiated and was assisted by the Rev. R. C. Smith, pastor of the Wrightsville Baptist Church. Mr. Page was born december 18, 1877, son of the late James E. Page and Vienna Wiggins Page. Before his death he was a member of the Harrison Baptist Church and a farmer. He was married in Johnson County November 19, 1901 to the former Mis Nora Van Landingham. Survivors are his wife, six daughters, Mrs. E. N. Brooks of Millen; Miss Mary Alice Page of Harrison; Miss Lily May Page of Waynesboro; Mrs. James Young of Wrightsville; Mrs. C. B. Smith of Augusta; and Miss Coleen Page of Macon; one son, Ira Page of Harrison; one sister, Mrs. E. L. New of Augusta; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Pall bearers were David Thompkins, W. H. Mullis, John Edd Van Landingham, Melvin Page, James New, L. D. New. Honorary pall bearers were Roger Fulghum, Joe Lanier, John Jackson, Jack Sheppard, Luther Logue, J. G. Jackson, Joe Tyson, J. T. Young, C. L. Wood, W. E. Harrison, and J. C. King. Interment was in the Harrison cemetery with Mayo Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
