Macon News  August 19, 1971


                                A. L. Poole
Arthur L. Poole, 73, of Macon, died in Goodwill Nursing Home Thursday. Services 
w e re held at 3:30 p.m. today in Corinth Methodist Church near Meeks. Burial 
was in the church cemetery.  Mr. Poole was a native of Washington County but 
had lived in Macon three years.  He was a retired farmer and a member of 
Pilgrim's Rest Primitive  Baptist Church.  Survivors include four daughters, 
Mrs. C. Darley, Mrs. E. E. Swann, Mrs. M. C. Watson and Mrs. Cleo Price, all of 
Macon; three sons, Henry C. Poole of Winnimucca,Nev.,  Thomas B. Poole of 
Wrightsville and Alfred H. Poole of Beaumont, Tex.; two brothers, Henry Poole 
of Brooklet and John Poole of Milan.  Stanley Funeral Home had charge of 
arrangements.  This was in the Macon newspaper and was found in Aunt Lois' 
Bible after she died.
