Palmer, 82, of Swainsboro were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the chapel of Peebles-Curry Mortuary in Swainsboro. Mrs. Palmer died at the Emanuel County Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Emanuel County, she was a member of the Vidalia Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Novie Downey of Shereport, La. and Mrs. May Leonard of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Frank Brinson officiated at the services and interment was in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers. Peebels-Curry Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Maude was born 5 May 1891 to James A. Townsend and Georgia Ann Tyson Townsend. Her husband was James Addison "Ad" Palmer who is also buried in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
