William Pope, practicing attorney of Adrian, died suddenly at his home near there on Tuesday of last week. He had been in feeble health for some time but had not been confined to his home constantly, his death occurring unexpectedly. He was a member of the large family that bears his name in the southern part of the county, having been a candidate before the people at two different times for county offices. He left a wife and one son. His wife is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lott Foskey of this county. Interment took place Wednesday afternoon, January 3rd, in the family burying lot at the Pope cemetery. Additional Comments: William was born 5-18-1887 to Christopher Columbus Pope and Naomi O'Neal Pope. His wife was Zelia L. Foskey. He is actually buried in the Foskey Cemetery in Johnson County.
