Burial was in the church cemetery. The Revs. Theo Carter, Dan Casey, and Paul Smith officiated. A native of Laurens County, Mrs. Rawls was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Nazerene Church. She died Wednesday, July 8, at a Wrightsville nursing home after an extended illness. Survivors include a son, James David Rawls of Atlanta; eight brothers, Arthur L. Tyson, Johnny Tyson, and Cecil Tyson, all of Dublin, James B. Tyson and Donald Tyson, both of East Dublin, John W. Tyson of Stone Mountain, Wilmer Bill Tyson of Morrow, and Charles Lee Tyson of Pensacola, Fla.; five sisters, Julia Bell Weaver of Ellijay, Dora Mae Melton of East Dublin, Patsy Ann Burgess of Eagle Lake, Fla., Betty Jean Thigpen of Dublin, and Theresa Wigley of Ohio. Stanley Funeral Home in Wrightsville has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Katherine was born 13 Jun 1919 to John W. Tyson Sr. and Sarah A. "Sally" Cobb Tyson. Georgia death certificate #026882. Katherine was married to Durain "Durne" D. Rawls who is also buried at Mount Olive Church of the Nazarene.
